Alloy
Alloys are special types of metals made by mixing two or more different metals together. People make alloys because it can give the metal better qualities, like making it stronger, lighter or preventing it from rusting. Bronze is an alloy made from copper and tin, and it’s much stronger than pure copper. Another common alloy is steel which is made from iron and a little bit of carbon making it tough and great for building things like bridges and buildings. Alloys are used everywhere around us, from jewelry to cars to even the coins we use. By combining metals, people have created useful materials that help make our lives better.
